Know More about Concrete Testing Equipment
Cement and concrete
testing helps assure compliance with quality assurance aspects like mix designs,
production control, and efficient materials usage, which are largely dependent
upon the quality of cementitious mixtures. There is an extensive range of
testing methods and techniques that can be carried out to determine concrete
quality and suitability, which is why it is critical to find the correct design
and tool for the physical testing of these products. Concrete testing tools
are varied and some are specifically designed for testing different
characteristics and qualities of cement and concrete, ranging from permeability
to soundness, specific gravity, consistency, expansion limit, and other
physical as well as chemical aspects of materials.
- Vibrating
table – A vibrating table tests the flexural or compressive strength of cement
and concrete, which is essential if you want to achieve a more consistent
mixture. The come in different sizes and table top configurations and
feature stops along the edges in order to prevent molds from slipping off
during operation.
- Mortar
cube vibrating machine – A mortar cube vibrating machine is essentially
used to vibrate mix-in molds at a certain frequency. The vibrator is
mounted over coiled springs and a revolving eccentric shaft induces the
vibrations. This facilitates easy assembly and then dismantling of cube
molds.
- Slump
test apparatus – In a concrete slump test, the device's slump cone is
filled with freshly prepared concrete mixed and then tampled with a rod in
three/four layers. The top layer is then leveled off with the cone, which
is then lifted vertically so the slump of the sample can be measured immediately.
- Laboratory
concrete mixer – A laboratory concrete mixer is primarily used to prepare
the mix design of concrete. These types of devices typically consist of a
steel vessel that is mounted on a frame. This vessel rotates at the rate
of about 20 to 22 rpm, with the aid of a motor and pulley component. It
can be tilted to different angles by hand to facilitate mixing and
discharge, much like an actual concrete mixer.
